For the past 20+ years, Rukiya has held various digital marketing and communications responsibilities in corporate, nonprofit, agency, television and sports industries. It is with a deeply rooted entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for helping others for which she founded Savvy Girl Strategies.
Throughout her career, she has launched numerous brands, organizations, programs and businesses that have been featured on NBC Nightly News, Wall Street Journal, Conde' Nast, CNN, MSNBC, Yahoo Business and many others. As an industry panelist and speaker, she has shared her expertise in PR, marketing and branding with many.
A proud alumna of Indiana State University and West Virginia University, Rukiya holds a bachelors degree in communications and a masters degree in integrated marketing communications respectively. She also attained her accreditation in public relations (APR) which is earned by those who have demonstrated a mastery of strategic communications and vow to uphold the ethical standards of a PR and communications professional.
